
Alternative Food Substitutions
I have learned some valuable tricks to make unhealthy food healthy and food allergies promising and inviting by substituting or using alternative foods in place of the mucus forming unhealthy choices. A good amount People are resilient and can ingest toxins to a degree without too many complications; However, there are some sensitive and health compromised individuals that are really affected by the foods and toxins that enter their bodies. So, I found that there are some easy substitutes that I have discovered over the years.
Meats
Chicken - Natural chicken or organic chicken no hormones, no sugar, no antibiotics, no steroids.
Bacon - Applegate Naturals sugar free, no nitrates
Lunchmeats - Applegate Naturals has sugar free and nitrate free meats as well as other good brands.
Red meats - Free Range Locale cows. Look for least number of hormones.
Dairy
Cheese - Goat cheeses are good. Nut cheeses, veggie/coconut cheeses
Milk - Goat milk. Nut milks (almond, cashew, macadamia, hazelnut) Coconut, oat Rice.
Half and Half - Coconut cream in a can great substitute
Butter - Coconut butters, olive oil butter, Ghee, avocado
Sour cream - Plain Goat yogurt, tofu
Grains
Pasta - Brown rice pasta, quinoa pasta
Bread - Quinoa, brown rice, coconut, spelt (is in the wheat family) Sprouted nut breads
Baked Goods/Flours - Oat, brown rice, almond, quinoa, tapioca, coconut, rye, spelt
Sweeteners & Sugars
Corn Syrup, Brown/White Sugar, Dextrose, Agave, Highly Processed Sugars - Stevia, Monk Fruit Sweetener, Coconut sugar, Maple syrup grade B, Brown Rice syrup, Honey ( honey does spike the blood sugar quickly so adding cinnamon will counter the quick spike)
Condiments
Mayonnaise - Vegenaise
Soy sauce - Braggs amino acids, coconut aminos
Ketchup - Sugar free ketchups or no add sugar
White vinegar - Braggs apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
BBQ Sauce - Spaghetti sauce (no sugar added) onion powder, garlic powder, smoke flavor, maple syrup(stevia)
Pesto - I use non-dairy pesto's store bought or made at home
Creamy Sauces - I use coconut cream (in the can) or cashews. Cashews are creamy when blended with water
Salad Dressings - I always make my own which you will find in the recipe section or blog section
