
Managing Your Own Mental Health
Welcome to managing your own mental health. As parents/caregivers so much is required of us daily that at times we become overwhelmed, overextended, frustrated, depressed, confused, out of balance, exhausted and overspent. We are so busy attending to everyone else’s needs that we ignore our own which causes great imbalances in our mind, body and spirit. This will cause serious depression and health issues over time if left unattended.
In this section we will discuss our own mental health, trials, tribulations, emotions, feelings and new ways of dealing with some of the big issues that we battle daily. I will provide resources, exercises, tools for healing and transformation and things that have helped me to overcome the hardships that we as parents endure through the process of caring for our loved ones with disabilities. If we do not take care of ourselves properly, we will pay a huge price in the long run. My goal is to help you feel supported and know that you are not alone. We are struggling with so many challenges on a moment-to-moment basis that takes a lot out of a person. I feel that we are given these situations to grow and transform so we can hold the torch to light the way for others to travel. With so much love I see and hold each of you in my heart.
